#365daysoflanglearning – Day 12

Hi, guys! Welcome back to the #365daysoflanglearning challenge; I hope you’re ready for some reading.

Today’s task involves a little less reading than last week’s, but I’d like you to go deeper.

Read some news headlines and collect unknown words.

First of all: where to find news headlines? Any news website for countries where your language is spoken, of course, though I like to use Twitter too, as the headlines are guaranteed to be quite short. I’ve also chosen headlines because the language in them will have words that you might see quite frequently.

The levels for today’s task do focus on word collection rather than how many headlines you read, however, and there’s a reason for that: it’s so you can suit it better to your level. Headlines are, by necessity, short, so it’s better that you read as many as possible, and if you’re at an advanced level in a language, or you’re reading a lot about a topic you know, it might take you ten or so headlines before a word stands out as one you want to learn.

So, that means…

Level I: Collect three words.

Level II: Collect five words.

Level III: Collect seven words.

Make a note of those words somewhere; you might need them later this week! 😉
